The Social Studies Department's annual Witmer Lecture hosted Dr. Nicole Eustace, Professor of History at NYU. She discussed her book,Covered with Night: A Story of Murder and Indigenous Justice in Early America at the assembly for 10th and 11th grade students.
Professor Eustace is the author of three books on 19th century American and Atlantic history, most recently, Covered with Night: A Story of Murder and Indigenous Justice in Early America for which she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2022, the Francis Parkman Prize, from the Society of American Historians, and was named a finalist for the National Book Award.
