NYSunWorks and HCES Cut the Ribbon on the new HCES HYDROPONICS LAB!
With gratitude to HCES Principal Dawn Roy and Hunter Elementary School Science teachers Ms. Kate Macaulay and Ms. Stephanie Abrams for creating a partnership with New York Sun Works to bring an exciting new, hands-on learning experience to all our elementary students to learn to how to farm crops in an urban setting from seed to table!
On Friday, March 21st, HCES was honored to have representatives from NYS Assemblymember Edward Gibbs office and from NYC Councilmember Julie Menin's office to help HCES cut the ribbon on our new hydroponic lab and partnership with New York Sun Works.
The room renovations and programmatic funding support needed to make this hydroponic lab possible were from the generous estate gift of HCES alum ROGER HERZ (Class of 1945) through his sister, CAROL BRULL (Class of 1950). HCES is grateful for this amazing opportunity to expand our STEM education.
