HCHS students attend premiere of PBS documentary Hamilton's America

Thirty lucky HCHS students were given tickets to the premiere of PBS documentary, Hamilton's America on October 17th at the United Palace Theater in Washington Heights.  The film documents Lin-Manuel Miranda (ES'92, HS'98) and his creative partners in the two years leading up to his record-shattering Broadway show, Hamilton.  The filmmaker, Alex Horowitz, is a former English teacher at HCHS.

Hamilton’s America, a feature documentary film providing intimate access to Lin-Manuel Miranda and his colleagues leading up to the opening of the musical Hamilton. The event kicked off with remarks by Paula Kerger/PBS, Neal Shapiro/WNET and Lin-Manuel Miranda, followed by a 90 minute premiere screening of Hamilton’s America. The screening was followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A with Lin-Manuel Miranda, filmmaker Alex Horwitz and other notable guests.
